Mounted bearings are available in a wide variety of sizes and options, and they are usually created to match industry-specific designs. At Dalton Hydraulics we ensure a selection that is as diverse as the uses for these integral parts. With over 140 mounted bearing units in stock, we are certain that regardless of your industry type or application, we have the mounted bearing units to fit your needs. We carry pillow blocks, flanges, take-ups and hangers. Our experts will gladly help you find exactly what you are looking for, but to help get you off on the right foot, let's go over the basic uses and features of each type that we have in stock.

Pillow Block Bearings

Pillow block bearings, flange bearing units, and take-up bearings units all consist of a housing section with a bearing mounted in it. A wide range of materials can be used for mounting configurations and various features. Each unit acts as a mounted system that keeps the bearing in position securely to operate reliably. Pillow blocks usually contain a bearing fitted into them so that each user doesn't need to purchase bearings separately. They safely enable their outer ring to be stationary while allowing rotation of the inner ring. Pillow blocks are generally are meant for smaller size loads and less rigorous usage.

Flange Bearings

There are also many available configurations available when it comes flange mounted bearing units, the most common of these are two-bolt or four-bolt designs. Both versions provide a method of accurately mounting fitting and load supports. They are usually used when a shaft axis is perpendicular to the bearing mounting surface. The smaller, two-bolt designs are most commonly referred to as flangettes. Four bolt designs feature a solid base with a wide inner ring for more heavy-duty applications.

Take-up Bearings

Take-up bearings are usually used to align conveyor tracks and maintain conveyor belt tension. Though it may seem small, take-up frames adjust the length of belts and chains to compensate for stretch, shrinkage, or wear and tear. Take up frames are used to mount the bearings and adjustments to pressure and tension are usually made with a simple screw mechanism. We have a wide range of sizes from 0.75 ID to 1.9375 ID.

Hanger Bearings

Hanger bearings, the last form of mounted bearing we have available, are a compact means of supporting the shafts of screw conveyors and similar equipment. The hanger bearing is made up of a split roller bearing in a housing that facilitate suspension from conveyors. Hanger bearings can be made of many different material like wood, bronze, ceramics, cast iron, steel, urethane, and a variety of plastics. One of the most important things to remember when you are working with hanger bearings is to ensure the bearing has continuous lubrication.
